Our standard neMAXYS series positioning system is the ideal solution for quick and high-precision positioning tasks in your laboratory environment. The worktable has a traversing range of 200 x 200 mm. A PID-controlled XY-system traverses the worktable to the desired position at a maximum speed of 200 mm/s, with micrometer accuracy.

But this system is also capable of very slow and smooth movements for more sensitive items, such as reagents or titer-plates. All parameters, like acceleration, deceleration or speed can be configured individually for each traversing movement.

The positioning system features an integrated USB-interface. This lets you connect the device to your PC very easily. After the installation the driver will be able to access all functions of the positioning system right away.

Universal Tool Carrier

Optimal Adaptation to your Application

A large variety of tools can be attached to the carrier above the worktable. The carrier itself as well as the tools on the carrier can be adjusted by the user at any time in terms of position and height (see image).

As an option, the system can be supplied with one of several additional z-axes on the carrier. The axes can be fitted with customized tools and traversed toward the worktable (z-direction) in the application environment.

The carrier can also accept other tools, such as cameras, without any problems. Different carrier heights are possible as well. We would be happy to work out an individual solution with you.

Tailor-made for your Requirements

You can expand the neMAXYS positioning system at any time using the expansion bus and the respective interconnect cable, to integrate additional modules, such as additional z-axes, neMESYS syringe pumps or Qmix heating modules. This lets you adapt the system to your specific requirements and create a customized solution from individual components. You can then control this complete system using a single, powerful software solution –QmixElements or the Qmix SDK.

Safety Enclosure

Optional Safety Enclosure


The neMAXYS positioning system can be ordered with an optional safety enclosure. This protects the axis system’s traversing area from external influences, resulting in added safety for your application and operating staff. The acrylic glass enclosure lets you keep a good eye on your application. Please contact us if you would like a customized safety enclosure.

Positioning Systems perfectly under Control

The rotAXYS / neMAXYS plugins for QmixElements give you full control over your rotAXYS and neMAXYS positioning systems. The easy-to-use and clearly laid out user interface makes manual positioning easy. To traverse the systems, simply click a position on the screen or click on a container (well, tank) in the graphic display.

The current position of the positioning system, the current configuration of your worktable, including all containers and micro-titer plates as well as all other important parameters are shown to you in a clearly laid out graphical user interface.

Powerful script functions let you master even challenging positioning tasks conveniently through drag&drop. Using this form of graphical programming, you can automate processes without a lot of training.

Whether you develop standard Windows applications or if you want to program in LabVIEW - we deliver the suitable libraries for that purposes. Other devices often are equipped with RS232 interfaces and use proprietary communication protocols. We provide you with up-to-date interfaces like USB or CAN, standardised open communication protocols like CANopen and comprehensive and comfortable programming libraries. Simply connect the positioning system to your PC, install drivers and programming libraries, switch on the device and you are ready to go.

Standardized device parameter access

The positioning system implements the CANopen device profile DS402 - Drives and Motion Control. Each single axis can be accessed by CANopen applications via the integrated CAN interface. The use of CAN bus and the standardised higher layer protocol CANopen ensures the extensibility of the positioning system.

Up to 11 positioning systems can be added to each other and controlled via one single USB interface. Extern CANopen modules like digital I/O modules, analog I/O modules, peristaltic pumps, neMESYS syringe pumps, regulating modules or heaters can be added flexibly.

Qmix SDK Motion Control Library

This library contains all functions for the integration of multi-axis positioning systems and individual axes in your applications. This lets you integrate all cetoni positioning systems, such as rotAXYS and neMAXYS, into your systems and applications in a short time and at low costs. The API offers you functions for:

  • Positioning individual axes
  • XY-positioning of axis systems
  • die Initialization
  • Reading of position and speed values

All functions are available through QmixSDK - motion control API as Windows DLLs (Dynamic Link Libraries). These DLLs can be integrated into any Windows development environment supporting the use of DLLs.

The Qmix SDK is a powerful software package that allows developers to integrate their Qmix system and its various modules into their applications.
