CAN and CANopen in laboratory automation
Distributed applications based on CAN and CANopen are more and more obtaining importance also in laboratory automation.
As a member of the CiA (CAN in Automation) and SIG (Special Interest Group) laboratory automation, we are actively involved in the standardization and implementation of CANopen device profiles for the field of laboratory automation and we are working on the integration of modern bus systems, such as CAN and EtherCAT in automation solutions for the laboratory.
One result of this work is the first fully object-oriented software CANopen stack. We use this CANopen framwork in almost all our applications and device control software. The excellent object-oriented design and API of this CANopen-Stack eases its integration into modern object-oriented development environments and software frameworks.
Development of modular devices based on CANopen
Our expertise in the fields of CANopen and laboratory automation enables the fast implementation of CAN-based control solutions. This allows the development and implementation of modular automation solutions (e.g. modular high-precision syringe pump neMESYS) and CANopen based positioning solutions (e.g. compact positioning system rotAXYS).
